I hope you had a wonderful Holiday with your family and loved ones, it is hard to believe that 2009 is already here.

I just want to say a heartfelt "Thank You" to all our
clients, customers, and supporters.  2008 was a record year for Calvert Marketing Group and 2009 has started off with a bang!

I have gone South for the winter, but our office staff will still be around to support you 9-4; 5 days a week.

I think one of the things I am most thankful for in 2008 is the opportunity to work with good people. 

My staff, consulting clients, like-minded marketers, I am blessed.

I also appreciate you guys more than you know. 

I have realized over the past couple of years that some of the best speaking opportunities for corporate national conferences came because of the high recommendation from one of our subscribers.

The six steps of sequential prospecting & recruiting


I have been talking about learning how to prospect and recruit SEQUENTIALLY for several years.

Too many distributors are trying to learn Algebra and they don't know how to do simple addition yet.

Learning how to prospect and recruit in a a step-by-step
sequential order is the BEST WAY TO BECOME A MASTER PROSPECTOR.

The network marketing industry is full of people who have tried multiple recruiting and prospecting methods and unfortunately MASTERED none of them.

The proven way to learn is to master one prospecting system at a time and don't attempt another until you have MASTERED the previous system.

You need to understand that ALL PROSPECTING AND RECRUITING METHODS WORK when they ARE DONE CORRECTLY.

The reason some people say, warm market, or online lead generation, etc. doesn't work, is because they didn't have a clue what they were doing to begin with. 

Just because a method didn't work for a individual or group of people doesn't mean it doesn't work.

Practice does not make perfect, only PERFECT practice makes perfect and you have to learn how from those who have MASTERED the systems, does that make sense?

Now lets briefly look at the six key prospecting systems being used in today's network marketing marketing environment...

#1 WARM MARKET 

The reason warm market gets such a bad rap is 90% of the network marketers were never taught how to effectively work their warm markets. 

The go into their market with a "GREED FOCUS" & try to talk friends and family members into their downline.

You need to really understand this concept...

#2 LOCAL MARKET 

"Don't go across the country until you have gone across the street"

"Build it in your backyard first, don't go unless leadership takes you"

I believe that people must Master Local Market prospecting and recruiting soon in their career. 

I have always said, you could take me up in an airplane and throw me out with a parachute and whatever town I land in and I can have my phone ringing off the hook with prospects for my opportunity and product within 30 days.

Can you?  You should be able to do that
if you have been around the industry a year or so.

What would I do?

It is much easier to build locally than out of state.

The support structure of a local group makes the difference between success & failure for many distributors.

I could make a list of 100 successful network marketers I have worked with, that would have never made it if they didn't have the support structure of a local team.


#3 RECRUITING WITH NEWSPAPER ADVERTISING

Newspaper Ads done correctly work. 

The second MLM opportunity I joined, my sponsor found me from a newspaper ad.  Our team made him 1/2 million dollars over the next 3 years.

I know dozens of six figure earners in the mlm industry who were sponsored after responding to an ad in the local paper.

#5 ONLINE PROSPECTING AND RECRUITING

I love the internet.  It is the most powerful marketing tool we will probably ever see in our lifetime. 

However, the gap between those who successfully market online and those who waste time behind their computer
screen is widening every day.  If you are going to be involved in any kind of marketing and promotion over the next 20 years, you need to learn how to market effectively and correctly online.

There is a ton of creative information in the market place.  I spend tens of thousands of dollars every year on Internet marketing courses. It is fascinating, and I enjoy it from a marketing prospective even though I don't
have a technical bone in my body!

#6 BUY LEADS

I do not believe you should buy leads, until you are earning a full time income with your opportunity and have the advertising budget to support the investment.

The quickest way for people to get discouraged in this business is to buy mlm leads and pound the phones every night trying to drum up interest.

I have never taught buying MLM Leads and calling prospects. 

I think over all it is a major waste of time and very discouraging for most people. I believe there is a time, place, and WAY to buy leads and make the entire process profitable. 

How? Using Voice Broadcasting to contact the people.

I recommend that you only buy leads AFTER you have mastered the first 5 prospecting and lead generation techniques and AFTER you are full time in the business and you have an advertising budget to support this business expense.

I know that there are some “gurus” that promote this and do live calls.

Here is what you don’t know... 

In some cases this is what is really going on behind
the scenes.

The guru is selling leads for a particular lead company.

The guru has a deal with the lead company.  The leads they are calling are NOT the same quality of the leads you will be getting.

Their leads were contacted previously and told that someone would be calling them that night. (The night of the training call).

So if it seems like every time they call a prospect the call goes flawlessly there is a reason.  That aren’t playing in the “real world” where you have to play & perform daily.

I have always taught people to use a voice broadcast
system and find the low lying fruit, the people that are
sincerely looking for a home based business.

People always asked me to recommend a specific company
and until recently I would just tell them to do a search for voice broadcasting online. I didn’t have any particular recommendation until now.

A couple of months ago, I evaluated a new voice broadcast
company. Their rates are great and their service is impeccable.

mlm business. 

Yes, I understand that I could have included things like Social Media, Article Writing, Traffic Exchanges, Ezines, YouTube, etc. etc. 

Those methods I categorize under #5 Online Recruiting Prospecting and are taught in my 21 Ways to Create Online MLM Leads course.

Try not to overwhelm yourself.  Master one method at a time and then move on to the next.

People ask me all the time, "Dale if you were stating today and you wanted to become a millionaire, what would you do?"

At this particular point and time, that is easy, because
it is what I am currently doing, and you probably don't
know anything about it.

But before we get to that, my answer during my first 10
years in business would be...

I should have joined Herbalife when they started.

I should have gotten in on the frontend of A.L. Williams.

(I had a chance to join both of these companies when they
first started)

Then I would say, "I probably would study real estate
investing, because I have met more BOZO'S who have
become wealthy in real estate than any other niche."

Please understand, for me, it was never about becoming
a millionaire.  It was about making a comfortable living
and not having a boss.


One of the challenges for me is that I have never put enough emphasis on the money, the profit, which is probably common for a lot of people that get caught up in and love the culture of network marketing.

The 2 greatest benefits are the personal growth and the friendships you develop.

I have witnessed a lot of network marketers who get so
focused on the money, that they miss the personal growth
and the friendships, and that is very sad to me.

Then there are those like me who see profit only as a way
to "keep score" and gage as to how many people you have
inspired or helped.

Fully understand that your income is in direct proportion to the number of people you help!

Ok, back to my original thought.

WHAT WOULD I DO TODAY, IF I WAS STARTING OVER AND WANTED
TO MAKE A MILLION DOLLARS?

Please understand that I have investigated just about
every hot business model that has come down the pike
over the past 20 years.

MLM is my passion and my expertise. I don't believe that
there is anyone in the world that can provide network
marketers the success systems that I can. I guess I better believe that if I am going to be in the consulting, training and seminar business.

However I consider myself an "Entrepreneur Mind" more than anything. I have looked at dozens of business opportunities over the years... Shrimp Farming, Real Estate, Buying and Selling Notes, Ostrich Farms, Direct Response Advertising, Infomercial Marketing, you name it, I probably have a course on it.

I have spend tens of thousands of dollars every year on
personal education.

In the last couple of months I have purchased 3 courses
on a subject that I find fascinating.

I spent $2,000 for 1 course, $997.00 for another.

I also joined a membership site where I pay $97.00 a month.

I have made $1,600.00 my first 7 days with this business
model, just playing around. I really don't have a clue
what I am doing, but I am learning.

I have to be honest, it is like a big game for me, and I
am enjoying it.  I don't have a real passion for it like
I do MLM, so I have a partner that is going through the
courses with me and will ultimately run that business.

However, I believe a person like me, or you, with no
real education or knowledge on the subject can start
from scratch and earn a million dollars in annual income.

In fact I know they can. It has nothing to do with MLM
and is a business model you probably don't know anything
about, or ever heard of.

MAKING MONEY WITH CPA NETWORKS

One of the best ways to monetize a web site, and among the least known, is lead generation, which is actually a highly lucrative form of affiliate marketing, but is used by relatively few online marketers.

Here's how lead generation works. Listen up - this information is golden!

Monetizing a website by becoming a CPA affiliate is very, very simple.
 
You sign up with one of the 50 or so CPA Networks that are available online, drive traffic to the custom landing pages they provide, and get paid whenever a site visitor fills out and submits a form. That is really all there is to it.

A CPA network is a clearing house that brings advertisers and publishers together. The advertiser provides a custom landing page and form, pays the network commission for making it available to affiliates, and the affiliates in turn are paid for driving traffic and generating signups.

CPA stands for "cost per action", and in this case, the action is the site visitor filling out the form. Compare this to traditional affiliate marketing, and you will see the beauty of it quickly. Done right, it is a much easier and more lucrative way to monetize a website.

A traditional affiliate must acquire traffic, do a good job of "pre-selling" the product, and send visitors on to the vendor site through an affiliate link, hoping to generate something like 1% to 5% sales, which in turn is highly dependent on the quality of the vendor's sales letter and product. If the vendor does a poor job of selling on the sales site, or has an
over-priced or poorly received product, the affiliate has spent a lot of time, and perhaps money, for very little return.

A CPA affiliate, on the other hand, has a much easier job of things. He or she must still acquire traffic, either by paying for it, or by putting together a well-optimized site that gets good search engine placement for certain key words. At that point, however, the CPA affiliate's job is nearly complete.

The next step is for the site visitor to fill out a form requesting some sort of information. Keep in mind, this does not entail the visitor getting out his or her wallet, or making a decision to spend any money.

All it entails is that the visitor *request free information* and give his or her name and email address, and perhaps a physical address.

You, as the CPA affiliate, get paid *even though your site visitor has yet to buy anything*. You are getting paid for a LEAD, not a sale.

Many people have no idea how huge and lucrative lead generation is, and not a clue the kind of money that certain businesses will pay for a good lead. Things like mortgage and insurance leads, in particular, are very, very valuable, as are credit card leads. But even something as seemingly inexpensive as a cell phone ring tone can bring you a nice commission per lead. Why?

These lead purchasers are planning on maximizing the long-term value of a customer. In the case of a mortgage, one lead can generate a commission of thousands of dollars to a mortgage broker. An insurance or credit card account is worth recurring commissions potentially for many, many years.

Even a ring tone lead has a long-term value, since the vendor will continue to market to that person over and over again, selling them many times what it cost to acquire them as a customer.

CPA is big, big business, and one of the best ways there is to monetize your web site. If you are looking for easy and lucrative ways to monetize a web site, CPA affiliation could be your answer. To really do well at CPA, you need to learn how to use traffic generation methods like Google Adwords effectively, but in the long run, CPA is far easier and more lucrative than traditional affiliate marketing.
