This has been a
very unusual week.
I just got back in town on Tuesday, and of course had
calls and emails to catch up on. This past week I
received 3 emails from people who were in bad situations
in their life and had fallen on some hard times.
They were all 3 desperate to create cash flow NOW!
I get at least one email like this every few weeks, but
3 emails in a few days is a little discouraging. What
makes this really discouraging is all of these people
have been involved in marketing over 5 years.
Over the past few years I have talked about many
important issues that if and when taken to heart can
prevent anybody from getting in a desperate situation.
However most people don’t plant until they are starving.
“My people parish for lack of vision”. They wait to the
point of desperation before moving forward.
I just want to encourage you to plant (get educated) on
cash flow creation, BEFORE
you need it. I have been talking about multiple streams
of income for several years. Please don’t miss
understand me. If you are involved with network
marketing I feel you should be focused, dedicated and
loyal to ONE COMPANY. I have heard all the arguments,
and the bottom line, if you want a focused, dedicated,
loyal team, then ………you better be. So when I talk about
multiple streams of income, I am not talking about
income from multiple MLM
programs.

I heard a network marketing trainer 20 years ago say,
“Give me all the self made business owners who have
filed bankruptcy in the past month, and I will build the
largest organization in network marketing that has ever
been built. If someone has been financially successful
in the past, they will be again, when they find the
right opportunity”
Our goal should never be to become a triple diamond in
XYZ company, it should be to develop financial
independence, or whatever our reasons are.
I have always said that the reason more people don’t
become financially independent, is because they NEVER
DECIDE TO BE.( re:

You must have a long term attitude. All 4 ways listed
above can create an ongoing consistent income but you
must start planting NOW! There are multiple ways to
create income; it is just a matter of getting EDUCATED &
TAKING ACTION!
So I urge you, develop a “multiple streams of income”
attitude and start planting NOW!

“Why Doesn't My Ad Work?”

Ad space in an ezine or on a web site, is just that -
space - and the web has no magical powers. If you write
a bad ad, you will not get responses. The same
ad in a print publication, such as a newspaper or
magazine, would yield the same results. You can't blame
the space provider, if your ad doesn't produce.
The people who have fantastic results with ezine
advertising, seem to have a few things in common.
They sell a quality product or service at a reasonable
price, and have taken the time to develop a good ad.
They also realize that the only purpose of the ad is to
get someone to request more information.
They all have a web site that gives complete details,
and where they make the actual sale.
Just having a quality product or program at a reasonable
price is not the only thing you need.
You must advertise it in an intelligent manner. The ad
you place is referred to as the "tease". If this is done
properly, it gets you to the next step in the sales
process, and that is the "education" stage. People want
information about the product or service they are about
to buy.
When people get to your web site, or ask for further
information, it is because they are
interested. This is a case where "more is better". The
more information you can give them, the greater the
chances you have of making a sale.
A very common mistake is to confuse the "tease" with the
"education stage". If the web site gives little or no
information, it is in effect just another "tease". You
can't expect people to buy if you do this. You must
provide solid information on
how they will benefit from your offer.
Others mix up the "education" stage with the "tease",
and try to give too much information in their ad.
Neither approach will produce good results.
The final stage in this process is referred to as the
"close". This is where you give the person a reason for
becoming your customer. This can take various forms, but
every good ad campaign has one.
All of these elements from the "tease" to the "close"
must be in place if you hope to be successful in your
internet marketing. Miss anyone one of them and you will
join the ranks of the "also rans".
If your ad doesn't produce, examine each of the three
stages to see if it would get you to buy.
Have a disinterested person look at your sales effort.
Sometimes you might get so close to the process, you
can't honestly evaluate what you're trying to
accomplish.
You must of course get ad space that is reasonably
targeted to your potential market. The ad for your
product or service should appear in places that your
target market will likely visit.
Don't forget that it might take 5 to 7 exposures to your
ad before someone bites. Don't be discouraged if
immediate results are not forthcoming.
Above all, don't blame the space provider - that is
simply a copout. They did their part by making the space
available and disseminating it to their subscribers -
did you do yours?

Of course, it's no good teasing people if you don't come
up to their expectations at the other end!
That's a recipe for disaster.

When you are involved with the public, you have
to deal with all kinds of people. It seems
daily that I have the thought “how does this
person function on a daily basis?”
It is amazing how some people think the world
revolves around them. It is even more amazing
how many people suffer from a victim mentality
and think the world is out to get them.
Shallow thinking
drives me crazy. I know that it is
unprofessional for me to include a Ding Bat of
the Month, but then again, I have never been
accused of being “politically correct” Some of
you may be offended by this section, others I
hope it provides you some comic relief the next
time your personally have to deal with an
unreasonable person.

His feedback
comments from an Ebay sale really frustrated
me. I know, I should learn to be fascinated
instead of frustrated. But this guy hit a
nerve, a pet peeve of mine. This guy ordered our
very popular Power of the Dream DVD. We have
sold thousands of this program and NEVER HAD
somebody complain.
His comment
"the tape is old 1996" is absolutely
ludicrous to me.
I am
sorry, but I do not get this mentality.
I know some people have it. But I really don’t
understand this lack of awareness and
understanding and common business sense.
This DVD
basically shares our story and the challenges
and frustration we went through along the way.
If I shot the DVD yesterday, the story
wouldn’t change! It was not like I was
teaching web 2.0 marketing ideas!
TRUTH IS TRUTH.
I pointed out to this guy that Think &
Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill was written
in the 30’s. The most popular book in the world
THE BIBLE is more than a few years
old!
HERE IS MY MAIN POINT AND SEEMS LIKE COMMON
SENSE, BUT BELIEVE ME IT’S NOT:
The age of information has no relationship to
the value of the information.
Last month on Ebay I purchased a set of cassette
tapes by the great Glen Turner that was recorded
in the early 60’s.
If I had the mentality that it is old therefore
it cannot be valuable, I would have missed some
of the very best training I have ever heard.
Truth is truth. Methods change, but
Success principals, concepts and ideas are
constant.
Why this guy felt
it necessary to complain about the age of the
tape is beyond my comprehension. As my
grandmother use to say, if you can’t say
something positive, then keep it to yourself.
The need to find the negative and the mentality
that the age of an information product decreases
the value of that product is definitely a Pet
Peeve.
Next month we will probably talk about the new
Guru Cruise affiliate program and all the people
that simply don’t get it. A great idea that
will make a lot of people a lot of money and add
value to the end user. As entrepreneurs I don’t
understand why we don’t support each other and
try to give good people the benefit of the
doubt!
THE INSPIRING
STORY OF HUNTER-
A 16 YEAR OLD ENTREPRENEUR

The first time I met
Hunter, my step-nephew was when his mom, married
my brother in law. They were married at our
home.
Hunter had gotten dressed up and walked in our
house pulling on his tie. He was about 5 or 6
years old. He made one of those “Kids say the
darndest things statements” he said, “The next
time momma gets married I aint wearing no tie!”
To this day that still cracks me up. It has been
evident from the time that I have known him that
Hunter is a special kid. Very smart, very
inquisitive and extremely business minded.
He has been making money mowing yards since he
has been able to push a lawn mower. When he was
15 he bought a car and re-sold it. Also at 14 he
talked his mom and my brother-in-law into
letting him set up a booth at our local Peddlers
mall. He stocked his booth with furniture,
antiques and nick knacks he bought at yard sales
and auctions. I have taken him to a couple of
auctions over the past couple of years & his mom
and dad take him around every weekend to find
stuff to sell.

For his 15th birthday he didn’t want the latest
video game or a typical 15 year old type gift.
He requested a trailer that could be pulled
behind his moms 4-Runner so he could buy more
furniture at auctions.
Today, Hunter is 16 and he operates a lawn mowing
service and employees several neighborhood kids.
When he turned 16 he bought a new truck, and a
couple of months ago he purchased an enclosed
trailer.
He has 3 booths at the local Peddlers mall and 2
more in a couple of surrounding towns.
He also
sells on Ebay and yes, he's a straight A student
and plans on going to college.
My point is simply this; while many adults are
sitting on their couch watching TV and
complaining about their boss, gas prices, and
the government, he is making money, doing what
any adult could be doing.

business. He has already recouped
his initial investment and will
probably make 4 to 5 times his money

We live in America,
the greatest FREE ENTERPRISE SYSTEM in the
world! If you want a 9-5 job, you can live in a
communist company and have that. A few years
from now, Hunter will become a self-made
millionaire, because he plans on it! We get what
we expect, not what we want!

conversation I had this week with my friend from
Amityville, New York Jeff Turner was the
inspiration for this article.
I first met Jeff
in the mid eighties. I was doing a training
meeting in upstate New York and Jeff rode 3
hours on buses from the New York City area to
get to the event. I knew he was a special
young man from the moment I met him.
Jeff joined our

ideas; we talked about advertising in his
markets on Craig’s List, Getting Referrals from
past customers and a few other things.
Everything I talked about he had done in the
past! THIS IS MY MAIN POINT. He already knew
what to do.
Listen, I am
preaching to the choir here. I think I talked
about this recently in another article. I
believe that most people, who have been
“learners” and been around marketing for a few
years, already know what to do! The challenge
is consistently doing it!
I have said many
times “Consistent Effort doesn’t always
bring consistent results, but it always creates
Success”. Another way to say that is
“Consistent
marketing
doesn’t always
create consistent results, but it always,
creates Success”
So Jeff and I
talked about taking one morning a week, say
every Tuesday and dedicate that time, to placing
Ads on Craig’s list and other popular sites,
writing, articles, etc. That is great advice
isn’t it? Take 1 morning, 1 day a week and
dedicate it to marketing your business.
You probably
already know what to do; it is just a matter of
scheduling your time and marketing
consistently. Consistent marketing doesn’t
always create consistent results, but it always
creates Success!
