THINGS THAT ARE DRIVING ME CRAZY IN NETWORK
MARKETING RIGHT NOW AND YOU NEED TO BE AWARE
OF...

There are 2 things
that are driving me crazy in network marketing
world right now.
#1 is video sites like YouTube.com and many
others with videos from people that “Never Have”
trying to teach others “How to”.
Realistically this can be expected at this
point in history, but when the information
they are talking about is totally off the wall
and not applicable for the masses, it really
drives me crazy.
So as you
have heard me say many times.
“The
industry is full of people trying to
teach other how to do something
that they have never done”
#2 is very similar, it is people that are
pitching a particular course or prospecting
method as “THE ANSWER” for signing
up 100 distributors in 30 days or other similar
outrageous claims!
I have no
basic problem with any of the courses being
promoted and
90% is great information.
This
is what you must realize, because the masses
don’t understand.
Most
of the people that are pitching one particular
recruiting method or another enrolled people
into
Programs that are
FREE or very LOW COST to join.
Statistics don’t mean anything, if you don’t
have a complete picture of the FULL Story. Many
times when you read the fine print they will
mention that 111 people joined their TEAM
in only 30 days. Not that they
personally sponsored 111 in 30 days. When you
examine the facts any deeper you will see that
many of these people claim to have 5,000+
members on their team.
NOW let’s
really examine the numbers. If you have 5,000
members and only add 111 people on your team in
30 days something is not working!
That
means only about 1 out of every 50 people on
your team sponsored anyone! So how can you
realistically be pitching one particular
prospecting method as
“THE ANSWER”
when it is not even working for your
personal organization?
Please don’t
misunderstand me here, and don’t waste your time
sending
me hate emails.
I hope I
have made my main point, now let me clarify and
as I make
that statement I realize this may end up being a
report instead of a
newsletter article because I have a lot of
clarification to do.
As I look
back on my career I know that there are many
times at
my 5 year, 7 year, 10 year, 15 year points that
I would have taken
advantage of marketing media like YouTube.com to
get my mlm training
message into the market place. I would like to
think however that
early on I never would have tried to tell people
that I have ‘THE’ WAY!
I would
also like to think that I never would have been
selfish enough to try to put down people who are using in their
words “outdated” systems
to develop their business.
I would
sincerely want to help people and I know that
many of these
people
feel the same way. They are sincere about what
they believe
at this point in their career.
Most of
the time, I understand where they are on “their
road” because at one time in my career I felt
the same way they do and many times believed
what they believe, certainly not all the time
with every training video I see online, but with
many of them. I believe that most network
marketing distributors are basically good,
sincere people.
Understand there is always an agenda! 99%
of the training articles and
videos you see online are by people that
ultimately want to sponsor you
into their program! I AM NOT SAYING ANYTHING IS
WRONG WITH
THAT, I just think you need to been keenly aware
of that when listening to
anything that is said, follow me?
Trainer
#1 is going to say something like lotions and
potions are for the simple minded, or something
condescending because they market a service.
Trainer #2 will say on the next video, if you
are not marketing consumable products you just
don’t get it, because the company they are a
distributor for promotes nutritional and skin
care products.
In 2000
when I sold out my network marketing company
and was no longer associated with a company,
corporately or as a distributor, my training,
consulting, and coaching business took off. I
like to think my customers and clients have a
little more awareness and insight into the
industry than most. I am not sure that is true,
but I like to think that. I do know that NOT
being associated as a distributor or corporate
official frees me up to say what I want to say
with no agenda.
I know
what some of you are thinking and yes I guess I
do have an agenda, but it is not to ultimately
promote my MLM Opportunity. My true focus is to
make a difference and help people. If I do that
my agenda which is to continue to grow Calvert
Marketing Group will be taken care of. I really
do understand, that you can have anything in
life you want if you help enough other people
get what they want.
I have
people almost weekly contact me to find out more
about joining my company, even though I have no
company or opportunity for them to join. So I
understand perfectly why people promote with
YouTube and use the “Funded Proposal” concept.
Here is
some of the best advice I have ever heard:
“Never
mistake sincerity with truth, because
some people are sincerely wrong”
If I
personally had access to YouTube after being in
this industry 5 years my “Sincere Message” would
be different by my 7th, 10th,
15th year. Nothing can take the
place of time and experience.
Now I
would like to take a look at the common “The
Way” ideas that are being promoted in today’s
market but before I do, let me explain that
they all are right.
I
believe to become a network marketing
professional today, you should MASTER every
aspect of lead generation, not just one or two
methods.
The bottom line is recruiting is numbers and
the more games/methods you are using in the
marketing place the more numbers you can go
through.
It is simple math, forget the fact that the
funded proposals trainers try to tell you to not
use drop cards, flyers, or newspaper
advertising!
YOU
SHOULD USE EVERY METHOD YOU POSSIBLY CAN TO GET
THROUGH AS MANY NUMBERS ON A DAILY, WEEKLY,
MONTHLY BASIS AS YOU CAN ……. PERIOD! It is all
math, and there is no room for ignorance,
emotion, or some guru’s opinion, nothing can
replace numbers!
I
understand that there are trainers out there
that will tell you recruiting is about
“relationships” and not numbers, and personally
I think they are just telling you what you
want to hear!
Developing a team is about RELATIONSHIPS
……….RECRUITING is about numbers!
Ok, just
like you start in college as a freshmen and
graduate after completing your senior classes, I
think those that want to master prospecting
should go through the same process.
I don’t
have time to explain the process in detail here,

team members to follow:
System
1:
Start right
and learn how to prospect in the warm market
effectively and successfully without pestering
anyone.

2:
Master a
basic referral system for marketing your
products and sharing your opportunity.
Effective referral marketing has been and will
continue to be the foundation for every
successful direct marketing company.
System
3:
Master how
to create leads and get your phone ringing with
interested prospects for your business and
products in your local market. Many network
marketers totally blow it hear because they end
up listening to gurus that try to teach them to
build their business 100% online. This is a
major, major mistake for the majority of people.

pro, local prospecting is mandatory because this

4:
Master
direct mail and funded proposal methods. A lot
of good training on this subject is available.
Many people think the “Funded Proposal” concept
is new, but I have been talking about it for

Create
online leads and drive them to the right kind of
lead capture page & Social Networking Sites.

Working Leads
from lead company. Unfortunately many people
try to build their business this way from day
one. This is the perfect way to run a new
person out of the business. I recommend using
voice mail broadcast with these types of leads.

Genealogy
Leads, again some people try to promote this
method as “The Way” to build your team. It just
makes logical since, or does it? I will talk
about this in more detail in a later issue of
this newsletter. I recommend that you use
postcards with these types of leads.

program existed, everyone in the industry would

gentlemen it is simply a numbers game!
